First Radisson Blu-branded hotel signed for Kyrgyzstan


Rezidor, part of the Carlson Rezidor Hotel Group, has announced the signing of its inaugural Radisson Blu-branded hotel in Kyrgyzstan, to be located in the capital, Bishkek.

Scheduled for a 2019 opening, the property will stand less than 100 metres from the city’s main commercial street. It will offer 181 spacious rooms, a number dining options, state-of-the-art wellness and spa facilities, and meeting and conferencing facilities spanning 1,200m2.

Commenting on the signing was executive vice president and chief development officer, Rezidor, Elie Younes: “The signing of the Radisson Blu hotel Bishkek is in line with our strategy to grow in emerging markets and expand our network in business and leisure capitals. We are very pleased to partner with OOO Stability, on this very exciting project and unlock additional value for our guests, owners and other stakeholders.”

Meanwhile, managing director, PKF hotelexperts, Christian Walter, who offered his advice to the owners in the search for a suitable hotel operator, remarked: “We believe that Bishkek has considerable potential as a capital city location, but also as a gateway to other destinations in Kyrgyzstan. Adding a branded hotel property with international quality standards will both help develop the destination on a global level and be a showcase of first class hospitality that the local population can be proud of.”

Kyrgyzstan recently introduced a visa-free policy for citizens from 44 countries for up to 60 days, thus making the country a new and attractive destination for vacationers and business travellers.
