Centara Hotels & Resorts has announced that its flagship property, Centara Grand at CentralWorld Bangkok, will undergo a comprehensive refurbishment, beginning this month.
The hospitality expert is investing $21.2 million in the room improvement project, which will see a complete floor-to-ceiling renovation of all 505 guestrooms and suites, an undertaking that will happen two floors at a time to avoid disruption to the guest experience.
CEO, Centara Hotels & Resorts, Thirayuth Chirathivat elucidated: “This is an exciting project and a significant investment in Centara’s flagship hotel. The renovation programme will enhance the guest experience with fully updated and refreshed guestroom interiors, amenities and advanced technologies, ensuring we will continue to deliver the kind of contemporary luxury experience that customers have come to expect.”
In cooperation with leading design firm, P49, the designs for the new room interiors draw inspiration from Thai artisans, textures and patterns and will create a modern and contemporary aesthetic that is in keeping with both the vibrant and international location of the hotel, as well as the brand’s inimitable Thai roots. Guestrooms, including bathrooms and furniture, will be totally recreated and upgraded, and technology and connectivity will be installed at a standard reflecting the demands of today’s sophisticated travellers.
The room improvement project is expected to reach completion in April 2021. The hotel will be fully operational and carrying out business as usual throughout the project duration.
