Saudi-based flyadeal is gearing up for significant fleet expansion following the placing of an order for 30 A320 NEO aircraft, with a potential 20 more on the horizon.
This move is a response to ever-growing passenger demand across the low-cost carrier’s domestic, regional and international routes. Deliveries of the new aircraft are expected to begin in 2021.
The enhancement of the airline’s fleet follows the inking of an agreement by Saudi Arabian Airlines Corporation (SAUDIA), which was formalised during the Paris Air Show in June.
The agreement, which was signed between director general, SAUDIA, HE Eng. Saleh bin Nasser Al-Jasser and chief commercial officer, Airbus, Christian Scherer, in the presence of chairman, SAUDIA, HE Dr. Ghassan Abdulrahman Al-Shibil, entailed 100 aircraft. This order will result in flyadeal operating an all Airbus A320 fleet in the future.
