flydubai revealed plans for a direct service to Helsinki, Finland, at the 2018 Arabian Travel Market (ATM), which kicked off today on April 22.
Commencing on October 11, 2018, the daily route from Dubai International Airport (DXB) to Helsinki-Vantaa Airport (HEL) will make flydubai the first UAE carrier to operate direct flights to Finland and the first airline to offer a year-round service between Dubai and Helsinki.
Announcing the launch was chief commercial officer, flydubai, Hamad Obaidalla: “flydubai will be the first UAE national carrier to offer direct flights to the capital of Finland. We remain committed to opening up previously underserved markets and to providing more travel options to fly to Dubai and beyond.”
The airline will deploy its state-of-the-art Boeing 737 MAX 8 on the new Helsinki route. Emirates Airline will codeshare on the route as part of its partnership with flydubai, connecting passengers to its extensive network of numerous destinations spanning six continents.
“Helsinki is the 10th destination we announced this year as we open up destinations for passengers from across our network,” senior vice president commercial operations, flydubai, Jeyhun Efendi commented. “We are confident that the high level of our service and the comfort of our new aircraft with a flat-bed in business class will make flights between Dubai and Helsinki a popular choice for passengers.”
