On June 7, 2019, flydubai will be introducing a new route between Dubai and Sochi, Russia, which will operate twice weekly on Mondays and Fridays.
CEO, flydubai, Ghaith Al Ghaith commented on the news: “Russia is an important market for flydubai and we are pleased to announce the new direct flights to Sochi, which will support the growing flow of travel, trade and tourism between the two countries. We remain committed to opening up previously underserved markets and to providing more travel options to fly to Dubai and beyond through one of the world’s busiest travel hubs.”
Having been operating to Russia since 2010, flydubai offers its customers seamless access to Moscow and other major Russian cities, such as Yekaterinburg.
Senior vice president, commercial operations and e-commerce, flydubai, Jeyhun Efendi declared: “We are confident that our high-quality and reliable service, the convenience of these direct flights and the recent changes in visa requirements for Russians and UAE nationals visiting both countries, will make this resort city located on Russia’s Black Sea Coast a popular choice for passengers.”
Located on the Black sea, Sochi is one of Russia’s key tourism hubs. It is renowned for its beaches, forests and the Caucasus Mountains. The rose to fame following its hosting of the 2014 Winter Olympics and comprises some of the best facilities for winter sports.
Travellers for the UAE can benefit from the newly introduced visa-free regime, which was agreed upon between the UAE and the Russian Federation earlier on in the year.
