flydubai touches down in Uzbekistan

flydubai has officially commenced services to Tashkent, Uzebkistan.

Launched on March 11, the new service makes flydubai the first airline in the UAE to offer direct flights to the Central Asian nation.

On board the inaugural flight was a senior delegation from the UAE, led by Minister of Economy in the UAE, HE Eng. Sultan bin Saeed Al Mansoori.

Upon arrival at Tashkent International Airport, the delegation was received by the Deputy Minister of Investments and Foreign Trade of Uzbekistan, Shuhrat Vafaev and Ambassador of the UAE to Uzbekistan, HE Mohammed Al Mehairbi.

The new Tashkent service will operate five times weekly from Terminal 3 at Dubai International Airport and will become a daily service from May 31, 2019, with Emirates Airline codesharing on the route.

“Uzbekistan is an important trade partner for the UAE and the start of flights to Tashkent represents a significant milestone in helping to strengthen commercial ties between us,” CEO, flydubai, Ghaith Al Ghaith declared. “We are pleased to be the first UAE carrier to launch direct flights between Dubai and Tashkent, opening up another underserved market in Central Asia and supporting Dubai’s vision of creating flows of travel and trade.”
