Hyatt Regency Oryx Doha has welcomed Julien Gonzalvez as general manager.
Gonzalvez has many years of hospitality experience, having managed Hyatt Hotels properties in the UK, Australia, Asia and now, the Middle East. He was part of the opening team of the iconic Park Hyatt Saigon and most recently opened the luxury Grand Hyatt Abu Dhabi and Residences Emirates Pearl.
In his new capacity, he will manage and oversee all aspects of the hotel and will spearhead a planned renovation.
Enthusing on his new challenge, Gonzalvez said: “Qatar’s hospitality sector is one of the most vibrant and evolving sectors in the region and we are committed to playing a key role in supporting this growth. With two million people visiting this fantastic country every year and the upcoming FIFA World Cup 2022, I am extremely proud to be joining our third hotel in Qatar.”

Gonzalvez has a diploma from the Hotel Management School of St. Chely D’Apcher France. In addition, he has attended some executive learning at INSEAD, Business School for the World – Europe, Asia, Middle East and North Africa
