General manager, Mövenpick Hotel Jumeirah Beach, Philip Jones

Dubai’s Mövenpick Hotel Jumeirah Beach has opened its arms to Philip Jones who is to serve as its new general manager.

Marking his third stint as the general manager of a Mövenpick-branded hotel, Jones has previously managed the Mövenpick Hotel Hanoi in Vietnam and the Mövenpick Heritage Hotel Sentosa Singapore.

An Irish national, he has worked within the hospitality industry for more than two decades, with independent hotels and international operators including The Ritz-Carlton Hotel Company.

His regional experience includes working as executive assistant manager at Madinat Jumeirah and then hotel manager for Jumeirah Zabeel Saray.

In his new position, Jones is to oversee the management team at the Mövenpick Hotel Jumeirah Beach and will set strategic plans to achieve the hotel’s revenue, operating and environmental goals.

Enthusing on his new position, he said: “I have always admired this property – including its great location on The Walk and the reputation it has built in Dubai with awards such as Best Brunch at the BBC Good Food Awards 2014. It is an honour to lead such a fine team and I look forward to building on their past successes.”
