Having recently opened its luxurious doors to the public, general manager, Rixos Bab Al Bahr, Haytham Omar exclusively speaks with Tatiana Tsierkezou about the property’s aims, USP’s and its contribution to Ras Al Khaimah’s tourism product.
How has Rixos Bab Al Bahr been received following its opening and what kind of guest is it striving to attract?
Rixos Bab Al Bahr has been very well received in GCC and MENA region. Europe and Russia have proved to be extremely fertile markets. We are striving to grow our source market globally.
Ras Al Khaimah is primarily a leisure destination and that brings our focus to leisure travellers, whether individuals, families or groups. However, we will also continue to target MICE segment as the resort offers great banqueting and events facilities in a very unique location.
Could you please share a bit about the property’s ethos and its facilities?
A part of Rixos Hotels, a leading Turkish brand in luxury segment, the very essence of Rixos Bab Al Bahr is the traditional Turkish hospitality.
Our endeavour is to delight the guest with services and facilities that go beyond their expectations. Rixos Hotels is the hospitality expert in luxury all-inclusive concept and Rixos Bab Al Bahr offers an ‘All inclusive – All exclusive’ stay that very aptly accommodates the Turkish hospitality philosophy of extending attention and services beyond imagination, making every guest experience an exclusive one.
The ‘All inclusive – All exclusive’ stay at Rixos Bab Al Bahr includes innovative dining at 14 very distinct restaurants and bars, a night club, spectacular evening entertainment programmes, Rixy Club and Teen’s Republic – activity zones for the young ones, signature Rixos Royal Spa with a marvellous Turkish Hammam, on-site souks for local artefacts, accessories and souvenirs.
For adventurous indulgences, guests can avail of water sports and excursions facilities at an additional charge.
How does Rixos Bab Al Bahr stand out among competition in Ras Al Khaimah and how do you feel it enhances the emirate’s hospitality offering?
At Rixos Bab Al Bahr we ensure to surpass our guests expectations by offering them nothing but premium hospitality and luxury services which help us stay in the lead of the competition.
The ‘All inclusive – All exclusive’ stay is unique to Rixos Bab Al Bahr, being the first of its kind in the region. Besides this, the magnitude of our food and beverage offering and the unique entertainment concepts puts us in a league of our own.
Ras Al Khaimah is a beautiful emirate with a lot to offer but yet to be fully discovered. Now that tourists have a well-known property like Rixos Bab Al Bahr in the emirate, we feel they would be more inclined to visit and explore. Ras Al Khaimah is a nature’s marvel, yet to be fully discovered. It is growing as a leisure destination at a very fast pace. The presence of Rixos Bab Al Bahr will definitely contribute to the growth, as much as Ras Al Khaimah as a destination will add value to the resort.
Could you please share a bit about yourself? Do you hold hospitality close to your heart?
Hospitality has been an integral part of my career for over two decades. Ensuring our guests have a unique experience is a great accomplishment, one like no other.
It gives you an opportunity to treat others the way you would want to be treated. Every guest interaction is a learning curve. You evolve everyday as an individual.
In your role as general manager, what are your goals for the luxurious Rixos Bab Al Bahr?
My goals would be to promote Rixos Bab Al Bahr conjointly with Ras Al Khaimah as a prime tourist destination in the UAE and tap into unreached markets.
We are promoting the destination as a whole, bringing awareness to this beautiful emirate which in turn will create even more footfall to the property.
We are currently the pioneers of the ‘All Inclusive-All Exclusive’ concept in Ras Al Khaimah and we need to make sure that we are always one-step ahead in satisfying all our guests’ needs.
Finally, if you had to describe Rixos Bab al Bahr in three words, what would they be?
Luxurious, intimate and family-oriented.
