The H Dubai has welcomed Sophie Blondel as general manager.
Blondel, who is from France, will now take charge of the 236-key hotel’s operations, ensuring profitability and return on owner investment.
She brings with her almost 20 years of hospitality industry experience, acquired from a number of hotel groups spanning Belgium and the UAE.
Blondel started her hospitality journey at Stanhope Hotel in Brussels, where she worked as an intern in the conference and banqueting department. She then climbed the ranks to become the hotel’s general manager in 2009. She held the same position at Sofitel Brussels Le Louise in 2015 and then at Radisson RED Brussels in 2017, before moving to Dubai.
CEO, H Hospitality Collection, Claudio Capaccioli commented on Blondel’s appointment: “We are delighted to have Sophie joining our team at The H Dubai. With the influx of visitors to Dubai as the city prepares for the Expo 2020 opening, we see Sophie apply her strong leadership skills to lead the property attain new heights.”
Meanwhile, Blondel enthused: “The H Dubai property is striking and I am very excited to be part of the vibrant team and oversee the operations of this property which has a long-standing reputation for its friendly service, good F&B offerings and superb facilities.
“Along with my team, we will focus on providing a unique and personalised experience to all our guests and strengthen the hotel’s prominent position within the local and international markets,” she concluded.
