GHM has unveiled its exciting plans for a new luxury resort at Katara Cultural Village in Doha, which is scheduled to inaugurate in July 2022, ahead of the FIFA World Cup 2022.
The Chedi Katara Hotel & Resort, Doha, will boast a total of 59 rooms and suites, as well as 32 chalets and villas. It will be developed by the Qatari real estate consortium, Triple A, in partnership with Katara Cultural Village. The exclusive property will occupy a beachfront location within the landmark 100-hectare Katara Cultural Village district, which is home to theatres, concert halls, exhibition galleries, mosques, restaurants, shops, a park and an open amphitheatre.
CEO, GHM, Tommy Lai remarked: “The Katara Cultural Village is a microcosm of everything that Qatar stands for and what it aspires to be. Our resort shall be both a springboard to and a respite from one of the most invigorating experiences to be had in the region. It is an oasis of calm and heritage in the middle of a dynamic and modern city.”
The design of The Chedi Katara Hotel & Resort, Doha pays homage to Indian Mughal Architecture and features a touch of Ottoman influence. The property’s principal hotel building will house a lobby lounge with 180° views of the sea, a large spa and fitness facility, and rooms and suites with terraces and views over the Arabian Gulf and Doha skyline.
The 32 villas dotting the extensive landscaped gardens in the Katara Hills will range from one- to five-bedrooms, all featuring private gardens and swimming pools.
As for F&B, the hotel will comprise an all-day dining venue with live cooking stations; the exquisite Lobby Lounge; and an exclusive cigar lounge.
On the beachfront promenade, a long swimming pool accents the principal resort building, while a second infinity pool offers a relaxing environment for families to enjoy a wide variety of snacks and fresh juices at the stand-alone Beach Club.
