Omani investment companies Golden Group of Companies (GGC) and Taameer Investment SOAC (Taameer) have partnered with Rotana for a brand new hotel chain to debut in Muscat, Sohar and Salalah in Oman.
The newly announced project forms part of GGC’s and Tameer’s ambitious expansion strategy as well as their mission to build partnerships with global operators in the hospitality sector in line with the steady growth witnessed in the country.
Expected to boost the development of tourism in Oman, the five new properties will contribute approximately 1,500 hotel rooms to the Sultanate over the coming five years in five- four- and three-star rated hotels.
Chairman, GGC and Tameer, Sheikh Salim bin Ahmad Al Ghazali remarked on the news: “We are happy with this strategic alliance and signing the agreement with Rotana Hotel Management Company, which reflects a roadmap for our hotel investments in hospitality, tourism and travel industries in the coming stage.”
CEO, Tameer, Suleiman bin Masood Al Harthi also noted: “Signing the agreement with Rotana coincides with the operation of Salalah International Airport and completing the main stages in the expansion of Muscat International Airport, which shall create a qualitative leap in the number of flights coming to the Sultanate. This requires doubling residence and hotel service.”
“We made an alliance with one of the most renowned companies in hotel management in the region and this will ensure the highest and finest levels of quality hotel services under the world brand Rotana, and we also contracted the best engineering consultants in the world to implement these projects,” he added.
