Gulf Air recently marked five years of direct services between Bahrain and Moscow.
In light of this significant milestone, an event was held in the Russian capital, which was attended by members from the Bahraini embassy in Moscow, Bahrain Tourism and Exhibition Authority, hotel representatives, travel agencies and members of the media.
Senior manager sales, Gulf Air, Rashid Abdulrahman AlGaoud hosted the event and delivered a speech to the audience that shed light on the strength and progress of the Bahrain-Moscow route over the past five years, as well as its contribution to the solid bond between Bahrain and the Russian Federation.
The special event comprised a number of interactive activities, including a raffle draw for flights from Moscow to Bahrain.
Highlighting its commitment to the Russian market, in 2018, Gulf Air launched a stopover programme allowing tourists to choose to stay from one to four nights in Bahrain and explore what the destination has to offer. The programme is ideal for Russian travellers who are connecting from Moscow via Bahrain to the Middle East, GCC, Indian Subcontinent and the Far East.
The Bahraini carrier launched direct flights between Bahrain and Moscow in October 2014 with four weekly flights. In October 2017, the airline boosted these services to daily.
Gulf Air’s direct Moscow route is further supported by a Special Prorate Agreement (SPA) agreement between the airline and S7 Airlines, enabling Gulf Air passengers to take flights beyond Moscow to and from various Russian cities, including St Petersburg, Kazan, Samara, Volgograd, Rostov, Nizhny Novgorod, Perm, Ufa, Ekaterinburg, Novosibirsk and Krasnoyarsk.
