Hotelbeds Group’s Ancillary Bank is gearing up for the introduction of a concierge service for use by the end traveller of its travel intermediary customers.
Aimed at Fully Independent Travellers (FIT), the new product will be found on Hotelbeds Group booking platforms and will be available in both wholesale and retail channels (Hotelbeds, Tourico Holidays, GTA and Bedsonline).
Following the launch of this new service, travellers will gain access to a 24-hour personal assistance hotline operated by local people in both English and Spanish. The service works to elevate in-destination local experiences through the expertise of local assistants offering services such as: meeting the concierge in person upon arrival (on request); interpretation/translation services; information on local infrastructure, services and transport; arranging and booking tours, tickets, attractions, events, transfers and car rentals; and information on culture, lifestyle, sports and local traditions.
Commenting on the development was ancillary bank director, Hotelbeds Group, Javier Arévalo: “We are very pleased to announce another strategic product offering that helps keep Hotelbeds Group’s Ancillary Bank as a leading in-destination services specialist – and help give our travel intermediary clients an additional competitive edge with their customer, the end traveller.
“This allows us to offer the first service focused on FITs, with the goal to offer advice and personalised attention by local experts from the very beginning of the stay. This service brings together a very complete value proposition for the traveler, allowing not only assistance during all the stay (solving doubts or covering any need), but also gives the possibility to improve the travel experience in-destination by adding additional and relevant services. All this through our local Hotelbeds Group trusted experts that will be available 24/7 via telephone,” Arévalo added.
Hotelbeds Group is making the service available in key Latin American destinations, including Punta Cana, Cancun and Riviera Maya; Thailand, including Bangkok and Phuket; and in Mediterranean destinations such as Malta and Bodrum in Turkey. Looking ahead, the Group is planning to launch this service in various other destinations.
