Plans for a Hyatt Regency-branded hotel in Cambodia’s capital city, Phnom Penh, have come to light following a management agreement between a Hyatt affiliate and Chip Mong Group.
Hyatt Regency Phnom Penh is scheduled to open its doors to the public in 2020 and will mark the very first Hyatt Regency-branded property in Cambodia.
Enthusing on the news was group president – Asia Pacific, Hyatt Hotels Corporation, David Udell: “We are delighted to bring the Hyatt Regency brand to Phnom Penh and Cambodia, and we are honoured to begin our relationship with Chip Mong Group.
“As Phnom Penh continues to become known as a destination for art, culture, tourism and business, we are confident that the globally recognised Hyatt Regency brand will resonate with business and leisure travellers visiting the country. Furthermore, we believe the hotel will play a vital role in the city’s development and will become a landmark in the city and a dynamic member of the local community,” Udell added.
Hyatt Regency Phnom Penh will house 250 rooms and will offer authentic F&B options. It will be the ideal location for events including weddings, social banquets, exhibitions, meetings, and conferences. Facilities will include a fitness centre, a spa and a rooftop swimming pool and bar, granting views of the Royal Palace and the Mekong and Tonlé Sap Rivers.
The new property will stand directly across from many of the city’s tourist attractions, including the National Museum and the Royal Palace, as well as cafés, restaurants and art galleries.
