The fast approaching ibtm world, taking place from November 17-19, 2015, is gearing up to enlighten the international MICE industry on the future of the industry through ibtm knowledge sessions and technology suppliers, providing unique solutions to the ever-developing realm of meeting design.
Managing director, MICE Knowledge, Dr. Rob Davidson, who is also an ibtm world Industry Analyst, remarked on the trends witnessed this year: “In 2015, we are seeing radical qualitative changes in the ways in which meetings are designed, and forward-looking venues are adapting their offer to meet the evolving demands of new-generation meeting planners and attendees. In the past 12 months, there has been a huge move towards designing meetings to be much more multisensory and immersive than ever before.”
Taking place on the show floor for the very first time in the new ACS Knowledge Village, over 1,000 industry professionals have pre-booked their places to attend ibtm knowledge sessions.
Presenting ‘Connections, Commitment and Communication for Associations’ and ‘Association Psychoanalysis’, director, European Society of Association Executives (ESAE), Christoph Raudonat noted: “This year we are looking at new formats and new ideas to honestly discuss the real issues at hand. ‘Engaging’ should really be what it says it is: engaging. The audiences in both sessions will have a chance to talk and engage with one another as if they were the speakers. They will have a chance to listen but also to be listened to. The outcomes will include prescriptions to take home and take action. So we are aiming at keeping it all very real.”
Meanwhile, other sessions to form part of the ‘Putting Meeting Design Into Practice’ education stream include ‘Storyboarding: Design The Story of Your Event’ taking place in the Think Tank from 13:00-14:00 on Tuesday, November 17, and ‘Improve Event Design By Understanding How Adults Learn At Events’ which will also take place in the Think Tank on Wednesday, November 18 from 10:00-10:30.
Adding to this, over 50 technology suppliers will be present at the show to shed light on their new products and services in the Technology and Services Zone. This dedicated area of the show floor is the go-to area for event planners who are looking for new solutions and technology and mobile app providers to enhance their events.
Sharing their innovative solutions this year are: Destinationbook, Etud Event Technologies, VENTTIA, Glowbl, mediAVentures, Simpl Agency, TapCrowd by etouches, ACS audiovisual solutions, B-Com Event Technologies, Cvent, Inc. and EventMobi.
