Jordan Tourism Board (JTB) and Qantas Airways (Qantas) have partnered to conduct joint promotional activities in Australia and Jordan to support tourism and trade between the two countries.
The entities will embark on a number of tactical promotions using Qantas’ sales channels and industry partners in Australia and in Jordan. Adding to this, plans for an Australian media delegation visit to Jordan are also in the pipeline.
Announcing this partnership at the recently concluded Arabian Travel Market 2016 was the Jordanian Minister of Tourism & Antiquities, Nayef AlFayez, who explained that Jordan and Australia share many similarities including welcoming citizens who will be the ambassadors for the combined efforts.
Managing director, JTB, Abed Al Razzaq Arabiyat declared: “The Australian market is one of the important and promising markets for Jordan, especially with regards to MICE, religious, history and culture tourism. This commitment is an important step in boosting tourism and trade between Australia and Jordan.”
Also enthusing on the news was director, JTB and the Jordanian Tourism Attaché in the UAE, Yazan Al Khadir: “This commitment is the beginning of a strategic partnership with one of the biggest international airlines to increase awareness of Jordanian tourism and to attract Australian tourists. Jordan welcomed 20,000 Australian tourists in 2015.”
Qantas operates 14 return services a week between Australia and Dubai with its flagship A380 aircraft. Onward connections to Jordan are available with oneworld partner Royal Jordanian and partner airline Emirates Airline.
