OMRAN Group has announced the soft opening of Oman’s inaugural JW Marriott-branded property – JW Marriott Muscat.
The upscale hotel represents the second property within the Oman Convention & Exhibition Centre (OCEC) precinct at Madinat Al Irfan.
Found at the centre of Muscat’s new business hub, JW Marriott Muscat has been designed as a business hotel and offers five-star facilities.
CEO, OMRAN, Peter Walichnowski enthused on the launch: “The opening of the JW Marriott Muscat will add another dimension to OCEC and the wider Madinat Al Irfan development which are central to the Omani government’s strategy to diversify the national economy.
“Having a mix of hotels in such ideal location is integral not only to developing Oman’s business tourism offerings but it also provides the perfect forum to support developing the local market and creating new sustainable job opportunities for Omanis in the hospitality industry,” Walichnowski added.
The brand-new JW Marriott Muscat is home to 304 spacious and modern rooms and suites, including a Presidential suite; five restaurants and lounges; 2,500m2 of banqueting space with natural daylight and state-of-the-art technologies; two large ballrooms and six meeting rooms; as well as a state-of-the-art fitness centre, a spa, sauna and steam facilities, and a pool.
General manager, JW Marriott Muscat, Giuseppe Ressa declared: “We look forward to welcoming domestic and international travellers to this unique property. Guests at JW Marriott Muscat will be able to immerse themselves in the culturally genuine experiences the enchanting city has to offer, whilst having the comfort to pursue their best selves.”
Eager to achieve Omanisation, JW Marriott Muscat held a three-day career fair in 2019, which attracted Omani candidates to become part of the team. The hotel has a current Omanisation ratio of 51 per cent, with 74 Omanis working across all levels of business.
