Cyprus’ Hermes Airports has installed seven additional state-of-the-art electronic gates in the departures area of Larnaka International Airport.
The automatic-electronic entry gates allow passengers carrying a printed copy of their boarding pass to proceed directly to the security check and then to the retail area and departure gates of the terminal.
Convenient and time-saving, the system can serve up to 1,800 passengers per hour. The new additions are anticipated to have a major impact on the reduction of queuing time of the travelling public.
The auto-electronic gates system is expected to expand to Pafos International Airport in the near future.
The ‘Express Lane’ facility has also seen an upgrade, enabling airlines to offer this service directly to their customers by employing an automated procedure, integrating relevant settings in their client’s boarding tickets.
