Le Méridien Dubai Hotel and Conference Centre’s F&B leaders were recognised at the recent Marriott International Global Discipline Awards 2018 for their outstanding contribution and excellence in corporate citizenship.
The hotel’s executive assistant manager, Carlo Javakhia, was named the Continent Recipient of the SABRE Award 2018 – Restaurateur of the Year for the Middle East & African Continent for Marriott’s Distinctive Premium Brands – which include Le Méridien, Westin, Renaissance, Gaylord Hotels and The Tribute Portfolio. The prestigious accolade identifies and celebrates Le Méridien Dubai hotel’s impressive global restaurant and bar talent throughout the Luxury, Premium and Select –International portfolio.
Concurrently, Le Méridien Dubai Hotel and Conference Centre’s multi-property executive chef, Dominic Petzold, won the Award for Culinary Excellence (ACE), Global Executive Chef of the Year 2018 for Marriott Distinctive Premium Brands. Chef Petzold is backed by years of experience in Europe and over 10 years of experience in the UAE. Strongly committed to enhancing guest experiences, he spearheads the operations across the hotel’s 19 distinct restaurant outlets.
Each year, the Marriott Awards of Excellence rewards the crème de la crème at Marriott International. Established in 1987, the J. Willard Marriott Award of Excellence honours the company’s finest associates who represent the characteristics of the award: achievement, character, dedication, effort and perseverance. The Global Discipline Awards comprises of the Award of Culinary Excellence (ACE), Excellence in Delivering Guest Experience (EDGE), Global Engineering Leadership award (GEL), Global Event Management (GEM) and Service Awards for Bar and Restaurant Excellence (SABRE) awards.
