Marjan, the master developer of freehold properties in Ras Al Khaimah, has confirmed Barceló Hotel Group as the operator of its five-star, all-inclusive resort hotel, which is set to open in Q3 of 2021.
The property will be home to 500 rooms on the luxurious Al Marjan Island of the northern emirate and will be the brand’s seventh venture in the UAE.
It will also be the group’s premier all-inclusive property in the region, providing guests with the high-quality hospitality, contemporary appeal and attentive service the Barceló brand is renowned for.
Barceló Hotel Group will now assume operations of the hotel and oversee its development, following the signing of a management agreement in April between CEO, Marjan Abdullah Al Abdooli and chief development officer, Barceló Hotel Group, Jaime Buxó – in the presence of CEO, Barceló Hotel Group, Raúl Gonzáles.
Al Abdooli spoke on the alliance: “The signing of this hotel management agreement is yet another landmark in the evolution of Al Marjan Island and its broader contribution to the hotel and leisure offering in Ras Al Khaimah. Barceló Hotel Group is renowned for its superior quality of product and customer service and we are certain this latest addition will only serve to further enhance our existing offering to those seeking a luxury escape to Al Marjan Island whether it be for business or leisure.”
He continued: “We look forward to working closely with Barceló Hotel Group in the lead up to completion of the project and the opening of the hotel in the third quarter of 2021, as well as the announcement of the hotel name in the near future.”
The all-inclusive resort will comprise a plethora of facilities, inclusive of a beachfront space; an extensive selection of F&B outlets, including a themed restaurant and lobby lounge; meeting rooms; a pre-function space; swimming pools; and spas, among others. The property will enhance the hospitality offerings of Al Marjan Island and Ras Al Khaimah as one of the region’s leading tourism destinations.
CEO, Barceló Hotel Group, Raúl González commented: “We are delighted to be cementing our latest hotel management agreement in Ras Al Khaimah with Marjan, a partnership that represents our seventh venture in the UAE. Al Marjan Island is a special destination that is continuing to grow in popularity within the leisure market luxury, five-star space – a perfect addition to our existing hotel portfolio in the region and globally.”
