More than 30 members of staff volunteered to be part of the meaningful activity at Al Aweer. The theme this year was ‘Beat Plastic Pollution’ under the parent organisation ‘Clean Up the World Australia’, which is supported by UN Environment Programme (UNEP).
General manager, Millennium Airport Hotel Dubai, Simon Moore declared: “Protection of the environment is everyone’s responsibility and we are glad to extend our support to campaigns such as these. ‘Clean Up the World’ is a remarkable initiative by Dubai Municipality aimed at improving environmental awareness and emphasising the importance of reducing waste generation.
“As part of our corporate social responsibility at the Millennium Airport Hotel Dubai, we are committed to minimise our impact on nature and environment through resource efficiency, pollution control and waste reduction. Thanks to our HR team for leading this intiative along with the other volunteered colleaguees,” Moore concluded.
Dubai Municipality’s annual ‘Clean Up the World’ initiative aimes to increase the number of volunteers who participate in environmental clean-up campaigns and enhance co-operation between various stakeholders. A key goal of the initiative is to assist in neighbourhood preservation by removing litter and debris, while also getting the media to report on environmental issues.
