Boosting its footprint in Germany, Mövenpick Hotels & Resorts recently signed for a second property at Stuttgart Airport.
The new-build hotel, with a scheduled opening date of spring 2019, will be situated right by the S-Bahn and the planned ICE airport station and tram terminal stop.
Commenting on the development was chief operating officer Europe, Mövenpick Hotels & Resorts, Ola Ivarsson: “Our existing hotel opened nine years ago and is highly regarded as an excellent hotel choice in this important economic centre. With this new project, we are proud to support all the stakeholders, not least Stinag, Stuttgart Invest and Flughafen Stuttgart, in their efforts to transform this first-class location into one of the most important hubs in Germany. The enhanced cooperation with a partner of Stinag’s calibre is an important step in the development of Mövenpick Hotels & Resorts in Europe.”
The hotel will comprise of 262 keys, a 150 seat restaurant and a bar with seating for 100 guests, as well as a 740m2 ballroom and several meeting rooms.

Already boasting a strong presence in Europe, Mövenpick has eight hotels in Germany, three in the Netherlands, one in France, four in Turkey and five in Switzerland. Another hotel will also open in a premium location in Basel city centre in 2019.
