Mövenpick Resort Sharm El Sheikh earns Green Globe Gold Status

Upscale five-star property Mövenpick Resort Sharm El Sheikh was recently re-certified by Green Globe for the fifth consecutive year earning the resort the prestigious Green Globe Gold Status.

Mövenpick Resort Sharm El Sheikh is an upscale five-star beachfront property located in Sharm El Sheikh, South Sinai on Naama Bay in Egypt. All 298 rooms and 4 duplex villas feature direct sea views and Arabesque-inspired decor.

A comprehensive audit was undertaken by FARNEK, Green Globe’s preferred partner. The hotel achieved a notable compliance score of 83 per cent in recognition of its dedication to best practices.

The beachfront property consistently focuses on environmental practices and CSR initiatives in the community. A welcoming organic farm is located inside the property grounds covering 875m and including fruit trees, vegetables and flowers. The garden produces approximately 1,760kg of vegetables and fruit such as cabbage, broccoli and tomatoes. Fresh produce is harvested and used in the hotel’s kitchens whenever possible.

Furthermore, three times a year more than 30 employees participate in clean-up campaigns that are organised to support the preservation of the beautiful surroundings of Sharm El Sheikh.
