Qatar Airways marked the opening of its new offices in Amman, Jordan, with a special celebration on September 2, 2019.
Attending the event were Transport Minister of Jordan, HE Eng. Anmar Khasawneh and CEO, Qatar Airways Group, HE Akbar Al Baker, who were joined by a number of senior officials and VIPs.
Khasawneh expressed hope that this strategic step will stimulate Qatari investment in Jordan and praised the strong bond between Jordan and Qatar.
Meanwhile, Al Baker stated: “Jordan is an integral market for Qatar Airways, where we operate three daily flights to Amman using wide-body aircraft, including the state-of-the-art Airbus A350. The opening of our new offices in the Kingdom comes as a response to the growing demand for quality flights, in addition to serving as further confirmation that Qatar Airways has become the airline of choice for discerning travellers from Jordan.
“We are looking forward to further enhancing our offerings and services in Jordan and are certain that the launch of our new offices will help us achieve our goal,” he enthused.
The Qatari carrier first started servicing Amman in 1994 and now offers a total of 21 weekly flights from Doha to the Jordanian capital city. The airline employs over 400 Jordanian nationals, who are fundamental the group’s development and evolution.
Adding to this, Qatar Airways and Royal Jordanian entered into a codeshare partnership in 2015, which enables both airlines to reach additional destinations around the world.
