As of March 26, 2016, Qatar Airways will be boosting its Doha-Maputo (Mozambique) flights to non-stop three-times-weekly B787 Dreamliner services on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Sundays.
The Qatari carrier currently offers flights three times a week via Johannesburg, South Africa.
Following this news, those travelling to Maputo International Airport from Europe, the Americas, the Middle East and Asia Pacific can now make the most of a seamless one-stop connection to Mozambique’s capital city via Doha, saving about five hours per direction.
Meanwhile, those travelling from Mozambique will be offered more convenient options to more than 150 destinations such as Beijing, Guangzhou, Shanghai, Hong Kong, Seoul, Tokyo, Karachi, Mumbai, Delhi and Dubai.
Commenting on the route update was chief executive, Qatar Airways Group, Akbar Al Baker: “Three years ago, Qatar Airways began flights to Maputo via Johannesburg, and over that time we have seen a consistent increase in demand resulting in today’s announcement, making our Maputo-Doha flights non-stop. We are very pleased that we will now be able to provide leisure and business passengers shorter, more convenient flights when travelling between Doha and Maputo.”
