Boosting its connectivity to Eastern Europe, Qatar Airways will be adding a four-times-weekly service to Sarajevo, the capital city of Bosnia and Herzegovina, to its destination portfolio on October 31, 2017.
The city is fast becoming a popular destination for leisure travellers the world over, with its rich history and a modern atmosphere appealing to all.
Remarking on the news was chief executive, Qatar Airways Group, HE Akbar Al Baker: “Launching flights to Sarajevo is a significant step toward increasing our presence in Eastern Europe and will provide our passengers with a new and exciting route to and from this remarkable city. It is also tangible proof of our ongoing commitment to expand our global network.
“Adding Sarajevo to our global network will allow passengers in Bosnia-Herzegovina to connect to more than 150 destinations worldwide through our five-star hub, Hamad International Airport,” he added.
The Doha-Sarajevo flights will be operated by an Airbus A320 aircraft, with 12 seats in business class and 132 seats in economy class.
Looking ahead, the Qatari carrier is gearing up to launch a further 26 new destinations throughout the rest of 2017 and into 2018, with new flights to Canberra, Australia; Chiang Mai, Thailand; Rio de Janeiro, Brazil; San Francisco, U.S; and Santiago, Chile; among many others.
