Qatar Airways launched daily flights to the Seychelles on December 12, marking its 14th new destination this year.
Upon the arrival of the inaugural flight at Seychelles International Airport, a celebratory ceremony was held, which was attended by government officials and local dignitaries.
Chief executive, Qatar Airways Group, HE Akbar Al Baker declared: “Our aim is to provide our passengers with greater choice and variety when selecting their holiday destinations. We are sure that the Seychelles is going to be a popular option with many travellers from Europe and the Middle East looking for an exotic island getaway. With this new service, holidaymakers can seamlessly connect to the Seychelles via our state-of-the-art home and hub in Doha, Hamad International Airport.”
The Seychelles is a key destination contributing to Qatar Airways’ worldwide expansion network, and its growing presence in Africa. The airline currently offers scheduled flights to 23 African gateways.
