Radisson Hotel Group has inked an agreement for the Radisson Hotel Tunis, which will represent the very first Radisson-branded hotel to open in the city and the group’s fourth property in Tunisia.
Enthusing on the news was executive vice president and chief development officer, Radisson Hotel Group, Elie Younes: “We see a great opportunity in Tunis, as there is currently a limited supply of high-quality accommodation in the city. Tourism remains one of the most important sectors in the country with the sector accounting for nearly 10 per cent of total investment, according to WTTC. We look forward to a successful journey with our partners and to providing career opportunities for the local people.”
Radisson Hotel Tunis, which is scheduled to launch in Q1 of 2023, will comprise 117 rooms, ranging from standard rooms to suites. Facilities will include a restaurant, a bar and a rooftop lounge; five meeting rooms and a conference space spanning 358m2; a fitness room; a spa; and panoramic swimming pool.
As for its location, the new-build property will be situated in Tunis North and will form an integral part of the IQ Smart Building & Business Center, which will include the hotel, retail spaces and commercial offices. The hotel will also be next to the large mixed-use Tunis Sport City project, which is currently under development.
Leisure guests will be able to venture to Tunis’ old town, which boasts over 700 monuments, palaces, mausoleums and the Great Mosque. Located just five-kilometres from the hotel, the Carthage Ancient Ruins, a UNESCO World Heritage site, will allow visitors to discover the country’s rich history, while other nearby attractions include Tunis’ port La Goulette and the picturesque towns of La Marsa and Gammarth.
Ideal for corporate guests, Radisson Hotel Tunis will also be within walking distance of the city’s newest business districts and industrial areas.
