In light of World Food Day, Ramada Hotel & Suites Ajman reached out to Human Appeal International UAE, by donating excess food from its sumptuous buffet, which was to be distributed at labour camps and given to underprivileged families.
On the occasion, Ramada Hotel & Suites Ajman’s team highlighted its commitment to reducing food waste and helping fight hunger.
General manager, Ramada Hotel & Suites Ajman, Iftikhar Hamdani said: “We are fortunate to live in the UAE and to have the ability to share our blessings to our less fortunate brothers and sisters. Every time you think of wasting food, think of the millions of people who go hungry. In addition, the unnecessary amount of food waste has adverse effects on the environment and this is also a cause that we relevantly address.”
Also commenting was executive chef and head of waste management committee, Ramada Hotel & Suites Ajman, Mazen Khadour: “At Ramada Ajman, we are strictly monitoring our food cost and consumption to ensure that only minimal amount goes unconsumed. With all our sustainability efforts, we take pride in the fact that our food waste does not contribute to pollution as we have in-house macerator and compost machine. Our kitchen team, along the staff, are well informed and proud to be on-board the hotel’s food management scheme.”
