The Ritz-Carlton has announced its entry into luxury yachting and cruises, taking its world-renowned services to sea for an exciting new project.
The brand has partnered with Oaktree Capital Management and maritime operator Dolce Cruise Management to present the first foray into the cruise industry for a luxury hotel operator.
The first of three illustrious cruising yachts in the series is scheduled to take to the sea in 2019, hailing Marriott International as the sole provider of luxury accommodations both on land and at sea.
President and chief operating officer, The Ritz-Carlton Hotel Company, Herve Humler spoke of the prolific development: “The yachts of The Ritz-Carlton will have a distinctive personality and sense of place. This unique combination of yachting and cruising will usher in a new way of luxury travel for guests seeking to discover the world in a relaxed, casually elegant and comfortable atmosphere with the highest level of personalised service.”
The itineraries will combine the lifestyle of The Ritz-Carlton’s luxury resorts and the freedom of a yachting vacation. Intimate and signature destinations will be offered, with journeys ranging from seven to 10 days.
The vessel accommodates up to 298 passengers and is home to 149 suites with private balconies. Two 138m2 duplex penthouse suites will be featured aboard the vessel, designed by The Ritz-Carlton itself in collaboration with leading cruise ship design firm, Tillberg Design, of Sweden.
Facilities on board the boat will include taste-bud tantalising dining options; a signature Ritz-Carlton Spa; and a Panorama Lounge and wine bar, offering endless on board entertainment.
Adding to this, the yacht will offer uniquely curated destination journeys through collaborations with local chefs, musicians and artists, allowing guests to experience the locations in unique and experiential ways, both on board and ashore.
