The Ritz-Carlton, Istanbul eyes potential of UAE market

With plans in place to develop tourism ties with Abu Dhabi and Dubai-based travel partners, general manager, The Ritz-Carlton, Istanbul, Can Goktas recently announced that the UAE is a major market for his property, with the UAE and other GCC members accounting for 35 per cent of guests.

Goktas further revealed that the hotel is preparing itself to welcome families and business travellers during the approaching season. The Istanbul-based hotel has new products in the pipeline that will more than satisfy the needs of GCC families looking to spend their holidays in Istanbul throughout spring and summer. The Ritz-Carlton, Istanbul has confirmed its participation at ATM 2016, while representatives from the hotel will soon be embarking on a two-month promotional tour that will stop off in Abu Dhabi, Riyadh, Jeddah, Kuwait and Doha.

“Our first class services and continued experience in the hospitality industry make us the ideal location for weddings and other business events for our guests from the GCC region,” said Goktas, who added that The Ritz- Carlton, Istanbul will soon be introducing a sales representative in Abu Dhabi.
“The Ritz-Carlton has always been a memorable destination for GCC tourists as well as visitors from other countries. Istanbul has not been affected by tension in ties between Turkey and Russia. We see a significant increase in guests from Egypt which is promising since it is an important market for us,” he added.

Other key markets for the luxury property include the US, Germany and the UK, with the US accounting for nearly 16 per cent of its guests.
