Riyadh Travel Fair 2016, organised by ASAS Exhibitions and held at Al Faisaliah Tower, was recently inaugurated by Secretary General, Council of Saudi Chambers, HE Engineer Omar Bahlaiwa.
Now in its eighth year, the event – taking place until April 15 – is due to feature more than 250 exhibitors from 55 different countries.
General manager, ASAS Exhibitions, Bander Algryni noted: “The 2016 edition is largest Riyadh Travel Fair to date whereby 250 exhibitors from tourism boards, airlines, tour operators and hotels from 55 countries will have an opportunity to outreach Saudia Arabia’s tourism industry. Outbound travel by Saudi nationals is one of the highest in the region with locals as well as expats constantly travelling abroad and looking for new opportunities to explore new destinations.”
Last year’s edition of Riyadh Travel Fair welcomed 219 exhibitors and 17,573 visitors – a 15 per cent jump on the 2014 edition.
This year, Abu Dhabi Tourism & Cultural Authority, Sharjah Commerce & Tourism Development Authority and Oman Tourism will have a strong presence at the show. Visitors to the show will also be granted access to the national pavilions of Austria, Slovenia, Hungary, Kyoto Japan, Philippines, Indonesia, Malaysia, Sri Lanka, Seychelles, Turkey, Orange County California, Bursa and Korea, among others.
