Rotana has unveiled plans to bolster its Africa portfolio with the signing of a new agreement with Grandview Hotels and Resorts Limited for the management of a five-star hotel in the Republic of Zambia.
Slated for a 2021 opening, the property will be located in the newly expanded Central Business District of Lusaka. Once opened, it will represent the premier property to be operated under the Rotana Hotels and Resorts brand in Zambia.
The five-star hospitality gem will house 150 rooms and 50 hotel apartments, along with three signature dining restaurants, an executive lounge, meeting facilities, indoor and outdoor space for formal and informal gatherings, a swimming pool and a fully equipped fitness and wellness club.
Thrilled with the signing was vice chairman, Rotana, Selim El Zyr: “As reflected in our strong portfolio and our solid development pipeline, Africa is a key focus market for us. We will continue to seek new opportunities to add our hotels in new destinations, thereby providing value to our partners and guests and strengthening our global footprint even further. On behalf of Rotana, I would like to extend my deepest gratitude to the owner of Grandview Hotels and Resorts Limited for placing its trust and confidence in our abilities to manage the upcoming hotel.”
Upon its debut, the property will join Rotana’s three operating properties on the African continent, including Al Salam Rotana, Khartoum, Sudan; Kin Plaza Arjaan by Rotana, Kinshasa, DR Congo; and Grand Rotana Resort & Spa, Sharm El-Sheikh, Egypt. The new hotel will bring Rotana’s total room inventory in Africa to 1,060, with further projects in the pipeline in Angola, Mauritania, Nigeria and Tanzania to be introduced by 2022.
