Sabre Corporation will soon be offering a smarter business travel experience, and is currently in the midst of developing an integrated product platform for mobile devices to power itinerary management, policy compliant booking mid-trip, and payment and expense management.
In order to create such software, the company is integrating several best-in-class products into one intuitive mobile platform: the online booking capabilities of GetThere; the itinerary management of TripCase; Sabre’s innovative Virtual Payments solution; and relationships with industry leading expense management services.
The new platform is expected to further simplify the travel management process, while also boosting business traveller satisfaction, improving corporate travel programme compliance and reducing costs for corporations.
Managing highly-complex travel programmes requires flexibility and scalability, and Sabre’s product platform is a solution that will grant the ability to integrate with any expense provider, giving the long-term flexibility of an open environment. Corporations and travellers will benefit from a seamless import of their booking, payment and expense data into their preferred expense management solution.
Senior vice president of strategy and traveller experience, Sabre Corporation, Clinton Anderson noted: “Controlling and managing travel expenses is important for any corporation. But that’s not enough. Travel is a significant corporate investment. Companies need to maximise the value of that investment by using technology that will make business travel easier for the travellers and smarter for the corporation.”
One of the key objectives of the solutions integrated into the product platform is to enhance the traveller experience throughout trips.
A new traveller survey entitled ‘The Digital Business Traveler’, launched by Sabre and the GBTA Foundation recently explored how business travellers make use of technology during their trips. The results highlighted that they look to technology to make business travel an easier, more seamless experience but they are forced to use a number of applications and services to manage their trip from beginning to end. Therefore, Sabre’s objective is to provide a single place to manage all trips.
Anderson continued: “As the GBTA study shows, the proliferation of corporate travel tools and apps creates challenges for both the traveller and the travel programme. That’s why we’re making a significant investment in a new integrated platform to provide one seamless experience.”
Concluding, he added: “It’s going to be a better experience for the business traveller. And because it helps them be more compliant and lower transaction costs, it’s a better solution for travel managers, too. It’s a solution that our industry needs and we’re excited to be leading the charge.”
