Safir Hotels & Resorts has launched the SAFER @ SAFIR initiative to ensure the safety of its guests upon their return.
The initiative comprises a number of newly implemented standard procedures and equipment to keep guests and staff feeling safe and confident during the COVID-19 pandemic. Safir Hotels & Resorts has been working closely with its partners, Preferred Hotels & Resorts and Bureau Veritas, to align with the latest industry insights and technologies.
The SAFER @ SAFIR initiative has three main goals, the first of which is Limiting Contact. Examples of measures being taken include self-parking services replacing valet parking, housekeeping and turndown services conducted once a day or upon request by staff in full PPE and contactless delivery of packaged room service and amenities. Adding to this, seating, standing and capacity arrangements in the restaurants, lobby, gym, elevators and beyond will be enacted to enforce safe social distancing practices, and where possible, buffets will be replaced with a la carte menus accessed via a QR code.
The second goal is Enhanced Cleaning, whereby the frequency of cleaning procedures has been increased, targeting areas that are frequently touched. Every item is also sanitised, including food items and guests’ luggage. Guest rooms will undergo deep cleaning before and after each stay, with careful attention paid to frequently touched areas, such as handles, faucets, telephones, remote controls and more. AC filters will be cleaned regularly and used cleaning materials will be disposed of immediately.
The third pillar in the SAFER @ SAFIR initiative is Enhanced Safety. Safir Hotels and Resorts will work to ensure the safety of guests by implementing temperature screenings at hotel entry points, outfitting staff in PPE, training staff to practice strict hygiene protocols, and reducing contamination by packaging towels and linens after the laundering process. Sanitiser dispensers are made available and guest amenity offerings have been expanded to include masks, gloves, wet wipes and hand sanitiser. Meanwhile, soft furnishings and minibar items have been removed and may be delivered in special packages upon request.
In addition to the SAFER @ SAFIR initiative, Safir Hotels and Resorts has acquired the Safe Guard Hygiene Excellence and Safety Label certification from Bureau Veritas, for its properties across the region.
