SaudiGulf Airlines officially began operating on October 29, 2016, with the introduction of two services a day between Dammam and Riyadh.
These flights will be followed by two additional flights a day between Dammam and Jeddah, which are scheduled to begin on November 27, 2016.
Both Saudi routes will be operated by a fleet of four brand new Airbus A320 aircraft, fitted with the latest technology, in-flight entertainment systems, and guaranteeing comfort and safety.
In Q1 of next year the new airline is planning to introduce flights between Riyadh and Jeddah with up to seven connections a day. The first international flight from Dammam to Dubai is also planned to begin in Q1 of 2017.
Chairman of the board, SaudiGulf Airlines, Tariq Bin Abdelhadi Al Qahtani remarked: “The primary reason behind the launch of SaudiGulf Airlines is to meet the increasing demand for air transport services in the Kingdom, due to the rapid growth of the Saudi Arabian economy. The main driver behind the birth of the SaudiGulf Airlines project was to contribute towards boosting air transport capacity both domestically and internationally, at exceptional service levels for the entire travel cycle.”
He added: “The airline will offer a new level of service in the Kingdom, whereby passengers will experience quality and comfort based on the essence of true Saudi Arabian hospitality throughout the entire travel journey, from booking, to check-in to onboard. SaudiGulf Airlines will be the new national carrier, raising the Saudi Arabian flag high up on the global aviation stage.”
The Dammam-based carrier is now accepting bookings via its newly designed, easy-to-use website.
Chief Commercial Officer, SaudiGulf Airlines, Karim Makhlouf explained the carrier’s service strategy concept: “On-board, the airline is investing in the passenger experience in terms of equipment and service delivery, with the latest in-flight entertainment systems, Hollywood movies and games, genuine leather seats, complimentary hot meals for all classes, full on-board connectivity and high-speed WiFi. On the ground the experience will include Arabic coffee service at the airport and dedicated ground service personnel.”
