Marriott International recently held a recruitment fair at Al Bustan Palace, a Ritz Carlton Hotel in Oman, under the patronage of the Undersecretary of Oman’s Ministry of Tourism, HE Maitha bint Saif Al Mahrouqi.
The fair was organised to recruit for 200 available job positions at Marriott International’s four properties in Oman, including the soon to re-open Al Bustan Palace, a Ritz-Carlton Hotel, Sheraton Oman Hotel and the upcoming W Muscat and JW Marriott Muscat.
Over 500 Omani men and women attended the fair to uncover the many career opportunities available.
Al Mahrouqi commented: “Professionals working in hospitality not only play a role in providing a service but more importantly, creating truly memorable experiences which ultimately reflect positively on the country’s image and reputation. We firmly believe that human capital plays an instrumental role in unlocking Oman’s abundant potential as a leading tourist destination. This is why we are deeply committed to working closely with hotel partners to continuously identify opportunities to train, develop and employ young Omanis to explore the endless possibilities the hospitality industry has to offer and build meaningful careers.”
Meanwhile, assistant director general of employment, Ministry of Manpower, Yusuf bin Said al Mutawa noted: “With a rapidly expanding job market in the service industry, tourism continues to prove to be a key economic driver of growth and diversification of the national economy. Millennials are encouraged to seize this opportunity to expand their horizons in this incredibly dynamic field and be part of building a lasting tourism legacy for Oman.”
Al Bustan Palace, a Ritz-Carlton Hotel will soon be reopening its doors, granting travellers a redefined upscale experience. The property will soft open in October with a limited room inventory, access to select F&B outlets and recreation facilities. All inventory, facilities and services will be fully operational by November 1, 2018.
