Souq Al Wakra Hotel Qatar by Tivoli has launched in the Al Wakra district, an up-and-coming seaside area.
The district, which is a mere 20-minute drive from Doha, is known for its pearl divers, sailors and fishermen. It flourished as a trading post from the 17th century onwards, but growth slowed down when supplies ran out. New investment has resulted in efforts to preserve and revive heritage sites, including the development of Souq Al Wakra Hotel Qatar by Tivoli.
The new property skilfully entwines Qatari tradition and contemporary hospitality. It is made up of two buildings, both of which were former heritage houses, and boasts 101 guest rooms with classic thatched roofs.
Souq Al Wakra Hotel Qatar by Tivoli boasts open walkways and maze-like paths that lead to courtyards. Multiple guest rooms can be blocked off to create private areas for groups. Ideal for celebrations or family travellers, large groups can stay together in guest rooms grouped around authentic Qatari majlis.
As for facilities, the new hotel houses five restaurants and lounges; Tivoli Spa, housing separate treatment rooms for men and women, a hydro pool, steam room, Vichy Shower and jacuzzi; a multipurpose boardroom equipped with the latest audio-visual equipment; and a business centre available in each building.
The property offers direct access to the adjacent Al Wakra public beach and promenade, while Hamad International Airport is a mere 15-minute drive away.
