An expert in wholesale travel brokerage, Tourico Holidays, recently released Q1 data which reports an impressive rise in Middle Eastern travel activity.

According to the data, the region has boosted its inbound travel by approximately 20 per cent and its outbound travel by nearly 25 per cent, when compared to Q1 of 2015.

Following this recorded growth, the company has identified the Middle East as a region of great potential and has therefore signed agreements with new distribution clients and hotel suppliers in key markets.

Director of Middle Eastern and African product, Tourico Holidays, Jonathan Ming said: “With additional flight routes, iconic attractions, and new hotels popping up throughout the Middle East, we see a market that has tremendous room for growth – unmatched by few regions throughout the world. In an effort to help fulfil the region’s potential, we’re making a strong push to sign new hotel contracts and add local resources intended to help our current distribution partners succeed.”

The company’s data also revealed that China is a key source market for the Middle East, with 300 per cent year-on-year growth. This is then followed by the UK, the US, India and the UAE.

Tourico Holidays contracts directly with travel suppliers, brokering products to over 4,500 distribution clients spanning the globe. The global company boasts partnerships with some of the biggest travel providers in the Middle East and Africa such as Rotana Hotels, Jumeirah Group, Protea Hotels, Hyatt and Hilton. The company has over 850 supplier contracts in the Middle Eastern region and sells over 4,250 room nights per day.

Meanwhile, 13 of the group’s hotel contracts in the Middle East are ‘Exclusive Deals’ agreements, or pre-purchased hotel room blocks, bringing forth to its distribution clients discounted rates of up to 60 per cent off.

Ramada Abu Dhabi Corniche is the most recent ‘Exclusive Deal’ member to join. In Dubai, Tourico has ‘Exclusive Deals’ at the Hyatt Regency Dubai Creek Heights, Jumeirah Emirates Towers and Rose Rayhaan by Rotana.

To facilitate sales, the company is also working closely with existing partners including Dnata B2B, which will now sell from Tourico’s hotel inventory in 2016. Other key distribution partners in the region include: Al Naboodah Travel & Tourism Agencies and Xperienz Travel & Holidays.

“By pre-purchasing large hotel room blocks in the Middle East, we can ensure that our hotel suppliers have guaranteed revenue and our distribution clients have access to the nicest rooms in the region, at locked-in, unbeatable prices,” Ming added.

Tourico Holidays will be present at booth TT1650 in Hall 1 Sheikh Saeed at ATM 2016.
