Scheduled to launch on June 22 of this year, the Tourism Authority of Thailand (TAT) has announced its very first app, catering to the needs of the ever-growing number of Muslim travellers visiting Thailand.
The application, to be made available for both Apple and Android devices, is set to guide Muslim travellers and inform them of Muslim-friendly products, services and facilities nationwide. It will be an online and offline guidebook that will help Muslim visitors to locate mosques, halal restaurants and hotels, shopping centres with prayer rooms and other facilities around the country.
The news of this app forms part of TAT’s efforts to position Thailand as a Muslim-friendly destination. It was announced at the beginning of June at a forum organised by TAT at its annual travel trade show, the Thailand Travel Mart Plus (TTM +) 2015.
Introducing the mobile app to the attending delegates was executive director of information technology office, TAT, Siripakorn Cheawsamoot.
