Tourism Malaysia has joined forces with Etihad Airways for a joint promotional campaign, to encourage tourism from Europe and the Middle East to Malaysia.
In light of the new partnership, a special signing ceremony was held at the World Travel Market (WTM) London between director general, Tourism Malaysia Datuk Musa Hj Yusof and senior vice president destination and leisure management, Etihad Aviation Group, Hareb Almuhairy.
The campaign aims to promote the enhanced connectivity between Malaysia and the Middle East, in line with the goals of the country’s Visit Malaysia 2020 initiative.
Etihad Airways began offering flights to Kuala Lumpur in 2007 and since then has transported 2.7 million passengers to the Malaysian capital city. The carrier now offers a daily flight to Kuala Lumpur, operated by the airline’s Boeing 787 Dreamliner.
“The campaign aims to welcome tourists from Europe, Middle East and beyond to Malaysia as well as to promote Visit Malaysia 2020 initiative, which seeks to attract 30 million tourists by the year 2020,” Hj Yusof explained.
