Tourism Malaysia Dubai and Tourism Malaysia Jeddah have announced the launch of the Malaysia Specialist Certified Programme (MSCP), which will work to educate travel professionals on the destination’s eclectic offerings.
The programme, which will be conducted by Malaysian destination experts from the state tourism boards of Penang, Melaka, Selangor, Sabah and Sarawak, as well as Langkawi Development Authority (LADA), entails six one-hour-long webinars taking place from March 9-25, 2021. The webinars have been specifically designed for travel agents.
During the informative webinars, the agents will learn about Malaysia’s major attractions, local events and tourist accommodation options. The MSCP will also be used to promote Sabah and Sarawak as the new up-and-coming destinations for Middle Eastern visitors.
Director – Dubai, Tourism Malaysia, Shahrin Mokhtar declared: “The MSCP is expected to make a significant headway, which will enable us to reach a higher number of travel agents in the Middle East.”
Also commenting was director – Jeddah, Tourism Malaysia, Putra Hilmy Elias: “This programme ensures that the travel agents have knowledge of Malaysia and also allows them to grow their businesses by leveraging Malaysia’s diverse tourism offerings.”
Those participating in the MSCP will be awarded certificates and will be entitled to enter a lucky draw for the chance to win hotel stays in Malaysia with a validity period until 2022.
