Prepared ahead of The Hotel Show Dubai 2016, The Abu Dhabi Hotel Market Summary report by JLL recently revealed that 200 rooms opened in Q2 of this year in the UAE capital, with the soft opening of the Four Seasons on Al Maryah Island in May, and a further 2,200 rooms are expected to be introduced before the end of the year.
The recently released report additionally predicted that room supply in the city is anticipated to reach almost 26,000 rooms by the end of 2019. Meanwhile, the report also noted that the year-on-year increase in tourism arrivals has continued, with an 11 per cent rise in hotel guests in May 2016, compared to the same period in May 2015.
Looking ahead, new hotel openings anticipated for the Emirate by the close of 2016 include Grand Hyatt Abu Dhabi Hotel & Residences Emirates Pearl; Gloria Downtown Hotel; and Bab Al Qasr.
Due to contribute 677 keys, Millennium & Copthorne’s Bab Al Qasr is scheduled to open its doors to the public in Q3 of 2016 and will be the first hotel to open as part of The Biltmore Collection.
Millennium & Copthorne will present more on the new property as part of ‘The next frontier: a look at the new hotel brands entering the market’ panel discussion at the 4th annual Vision Conference, Dubai 2016.
