Abu Dhabi’s Yas Island welcomed a record number of visitors during Eid Al Fitr this year.

During the holiday, Yas Island’s world-class indoor and outdoor leisure and entertainment attractions, alongside an extensive event calendar and mall promotions, continued driving the destination’s value proposition as an ideal staycation hub. Attendance at the thrilling theme parks doubled in number compared to Eid last year, with a 100 per cent occupancy at the island’s seven hotels.

Similarly, the 24-Hour Mega Sale, triple-car giveaway and tax-free shopping promotion saw the Island’s Yas Mall experience a double-digit sales increase across participating stores.

Thousands enjoyed the firework spectacle at Yas Marina, which lit up the sky for three consecutive evenings, whilst others enjoyed competing against each other on the winding track of Yas KartZone in the ‘Race for Eidiyyah’, whereby winners went home with cash prizes of more than $3,267.

“It is great to see this phenomenal increase in visitations and success on Yas Island during eid, which is a testament to its continuous growth and position as one of the top global destinations,” enthused CEO, Miral, Mohamed Abdalla Al Zaabi. “We work alongside our partners in evolving our unique offerings and immersive experiences, creating a range of diverse activities for our visitors to enjoy during Eid and beyond.”

The Yas Gaming Festival, which continued through June 15, also entertained thousands with experiences featuring virtual reality, retro games, a showcase of the latest video games, cosplay and tournaments.

With extended opening hours during Eid Al Fitr, Yas Island’s theme parks welcomed thousands of guests who enjoyed hours of family fun. Ferrari World Abu Dhabi’s Rollercoaster Rally proved to be a hit with adrenaline junkies enjoying an evening of free entry after 18:00, with non-stop rollercoaster action and excitement up until midnight on the second day of Eid.
