Gulf Air celebrated the start of its very first route to the Greek island of Santorini this week.
Fight GF034 was welcomed to Santorini International Airport with a traditional water cannon salute upon arrival. The flight was operated by the Bahraini carrier’s Airbus A320neo, which comprises 16 Falcon Gold seats and 120 economy class seats.
Enthusing on the development was acting CEO, Gulf Air, Captain Waleed AlAlawi: “Earlier this month, Gulf Air operated its inaugural flight to Mykonos and with [the] launch of Santorini flights, the airline aims to boost its network with popular boutique seaside destinations that are favoured to many tourists and families in the Kingdom of Bahrain and the region. These strategic additions come in place as the demand for travel gradually grows towards the summer holiday with travel restrictions easing off in Europe.”
Gulf Air’s twice-weekly Santorini and Mykonos flights will be available until the end of September 2021.
