Renan Astolpho has been appointed the new hotel manager of the luxurious Four Seasons Hotel Dubai International Financial Centre.
Astolpho, who studied international hospitality and tourism management at Bournemouth University, kicked off his career in hospitality as a manager at The Hoxton Grill London in 2007. Progressing to wine steward and then head barman, he continued to expand his knowledge of the industry and hone his own skills, which were then recognised with his appointment to assistant food and beverage manager at St. Pancras Renaissance Hotel in 2011.
Astolpho then journeyed into Asia in 2012, where he worked as an outlet manager in The St. Regis Hotel & Residences in Bangkok, Thailand. In 2013, he relocated to The Ritz Carlton in Shanghai in the same capacity, and a year later he was promoted to director of outlets.
In 2015, Astolpho moved to Bvlgari Resort in Bali, Indonesia as director of food and beverage before relocating again in May 2017 to Japan, as director of food and beverage of Ritz Carlton in Osaka. During his stint in Japan, Astolpho was responsible for a significant jump in revenue and profitability, and for refining the overall guest experience.
In September 2018, Renan joined Four Seasons Resort Dubai at Jumeirah Beach as director of food and beverage. After two years there, Astolpho now makes his move to sister property, Four Seasons Hotel Dubai International Financial Centre, where he will work as hotel manager.
