A true Dubai icon, Kempinski Hotel Mall of the Emirates will stop at nothing to provide guests with unparalleled experiences in the city all year round. Its general manager, Slim Zaiane shares with TTG a myriad of offers, as well as foolproof measures, the hotel has been keeping busy with.
TTG: Please share with our readers your company’s latest updates. What are some challenges you have had to endure during this unprecedented period?
With the festive season upon us, we wanted to offer our guests the opportunity to set the woes of such a tumultuous year aside and escape to a magical experience of their choosing at Kempinski Hotel Mall of the Emirates. The challenge was to create experiences that people can enjoy in smaller groups without a sense of isolation and in a luxurious, worry-free atmosphere.
We set up an escape to our ambient Aspen Ski Chalets. There, guests can indulge in an exclusive Christmas dinner with views of the snow-covered slopes of Ski Dubai and, if they wish, they can upgrade their experience to stay in the chalet at a 30 per cent discount, along with a confirmed Christmas lunch or dinner.
Movie lovers can recline with family and friends in the private VOX@Kempinski cinema, as they watch a lineup of their Christmas favorites while being served a full festive menu.
For those who wish to travel beyond reality, our fine-dining Christmas Special will transport them to a virtual Christmas wonderland in a one-of-kind immersive 3D fine-dining experience.
Guests can celebrate a family Christmas Day brunch in a Levantine atmosphere at Olea, savor an authentic Spanish Christmas feast at Salero Tapas & Bodega, or enjoy a festive afternoon tea with a host of seasonal treats in the Aspen lounge. On New Year’s Eve, guests can usher in 2021 at one of our suave restaurants, each possessing a unique atmosphere of its own.
SENSASIA Stories, our newly opened flagship destination spa, is also a destination experience in and of itself. It allows clients to script their own escape to deeply transformative total body journeys. While SENSASIA Lab express spa offers them a quick luxury fix in between holiday festivities, including VR voyages to idyllic beaches and sweeping mountains in the spa pods.
TTG: How have you adapted company norms and practices to the current situation?
Earlier this year, Kempinski initiated its White Glove Services. Our group was the very first amongst hoteliers internationally to introduce such measures. These services extend to every department and operational task within our properties. They also involved specialised training to combat the coronavirus pandemic, focusing on the well-being, safety, and comfort of both our guests and employees.
The White Glove Services include keeping rooms vacant for at least two to three days between stays, requiring all our staff to wear PPE/masks and gloves, the presence of hand sanitizer abundantly across our premises, and thermal cameras for temperature checks, contactless payment, and social distancing parameters. Even pens, tables, and chairs across the hotel are sanitised; however small, no detail is overlooked.
Kempinski Hotel-Mall of the Emirates received the Bureau Veritas Safeguard label for its White Glove Services. Most importantly, while applying these strict measures, we were able to integrate them seamlessly into the Kempinski tradition of warm-hearted and luxurious hospitality.
TTG: Are there any developments or projects in the pipeline?
In 2021, tennis lovers will have a new destination in Dubai. After a year of lockdowns and living life online and in-doors, I think everyone is eager for outdoor activity in the fresh air. That is why we chose 2021 as the perfect timing to inaugurate our Kempinski Tennis Academy. Our state-of-the-art courts and facilities will cater to seasoned tennis players and beginners alike. We are excited to welcome our guests to pick up the racquet and bask in the sunshine on our lush Kempinski grounds soon.
We are also looking ahead to a resurgence in socialising activities. To that end, we are busy revamping our F&B experiences and developing new dining and leisure concepts that will satiates the discerning appetites of or our guests and patrons.
