SalamAir has launched four-times-weekly services between Muscat and Abu Dhabi.
Abu Dhabi represents SalamAir’s sixth point in the GCC region. The airline offers flights to Doha, Dubai, Jeddah, Riyadh and Kuwait, as well as direct flights between Abu Dhabi and Salalah.
“The decision to launch this direct service between Muscat and Abu Dhabi means we remain on track to execute our strategy to redefine the budget travel market in the region,” explained CEO, SalamAir, Captain Mohamed Ahmed.
“SalamAir continues to grow, offering new exciting destinations for business or leisure, while offering our guests a convenient, efficient and competitive travel experience. Combined with our current popular flights to Dubai, our direct Abu Dhabi flights offer yet another dimension to travellers going onto the UAE or connecting though Muscat to other places. We are confident this will create growth opportunities in trade as well between both countries,” he added.
The new route forms a significant part of the Omani low-cost carrier’s expansion plan, which aims to double the number of A320neos in its fleet by the end of 2019, as well as increase its network to 29.
